Claims Handler  

To provide a complete claims service in a busy broking environment to both our Commercial and Personal Lines Insurance Departments, engaging with clients, insurers and suppliers from initial notification to satisfactory settlement of a claim.

  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building;
  • CII qualification preferable but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Location: NG2 Business Park, Nottingham

Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience

Hours: Mon - Fri 9-5pm

Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Main tasks:

  • To be the first answer point for telephone calls received on the claims line.
  • To take claim notification instructions from clients and gather the relevant information to report a claim to an Insurer.
  • Guide clients through the claims process and explain the service they can expect.
  • Where applicable report claims on behalf of a client to Insurers and ascertain if any further information is required.
  • Create and complete claim details within the client’s records and keep these fully updated.
  • Remain in contact with Insurers, obtaining updates on the present position of a claim with the aim of obtaining early settlement on the best terms possible for both the Insurer and client.
  • To ‘check in ‘with client’s offering help, assistance and to provide updates on the current position of their claim on a regular basis.
  • To communicate with Directors and members of staff regarding the progress of a claim when necessary.
